Rev. Tracy L. Leggett was born on July 18, 1970, in Albany, Georgia to the late mother Doris L. Thomas (Carter).
Tracy felt an early call to ministry, leading to a lifetime of devoted service. His ministry started at Monroe Street COGIC where he was ordained as a minister at the age of 16.
Rev. Tracy L. Leggett received his formal education in the Dougherty County School System.
Graduating from Monroe High School and then attending Middle Georgia College where his education would begin a career in the helping and assisting God's children with food and nourishment, both for the body and the soul.
For 39 years, Rev. Tracy L. Leggett dedicated his life to ministry, serving as youth pastor Greater Hall Temple and served as one of the Elders before he was called and started Serving as Pastor of New Hope COGIC he then served on the Ministerial staff at True Faith COGIC. He was a passionate expositor of the Word, touching countless lives through sermons, pastoral care, and unwavering guidance, he was described by many as a "true servant of God.
Rev. Tracy L. Leggett is preceded in death by his loving father, Carter Thomas and mother, Mother Doris L. Thomas; brother, Malcolm B. Leggett and son, Marcus Wesley.
Beyond the pulpit, Rev. Tracy L. Leggett was a beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle, cousin and friend to many and an enemy to none.
Rev. Tracy L. Leggett leaves in his cherished memory six sons, Jeremy Leggett, Desmond Leggett, Zyair Leggett, Zabian Leggett, ZaQhadius Hollingshed and Jamevans Hollingshed; one daughter, Javita Hall; grandchildren, Isaiah, Titus, Jai-Riley, and Jacob; brother, Jeremiah A. Leggett-Jackson (Charlene); nephew, Montavios Jackson; niece, Jahmiah Leggett Boner; great nephew, Montavious Jr. and niece, Jordyn, he was also blessed with a host of aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.
