Mrs. Juanita Young

October 24, 1948 — August 27, 2016

Juanita Parker Young was born in Pelham, Georgia on October 24, 1948, to Louise Lammons Parker and Eddie Parker.

At a very early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.  She attended Summerhill Baptist Church in her early years.  Juanita was raised and lived with her Grandparents for a huge part of her childhood, in Pelham Georgia.

Juanita met and married James H. Young in May of 1966 and soon Juanita’s family relocated to South Florida.  Juanita worked as a laundry manager and in later years as a cook for a daycare.  But before that, Juanita would retire and become a full time care giver for her mother before her mother passed. Juanita moved back to South Georgia in 2003 to be nearer to her siblings.  In 2007, Juanita became ill and lived the remainder of her life at Mitchell County Convalescent Center, with her children close to her.

On Saturday, August 27, 2016, the Heavenly roll was called and Juanita answered the call to be with the Lord.  She is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Mattie and Lention Lammons.

Juanita leaves loving memories to her children, Leatha Young, Aldon Young, Barbara Young and Derek Young and she also leaves sweet memories for her grandchildren, Brandon Young, MaKylah Coleman, Messiah Young and Amani Christian.  She also has left very wonderful memories for her honorary godson, Colburn Shelton and goddaughter Tyesha Doss.  Other family members who have great memories to share are, Mattie Parker, Sister; Jerome Parker, Brother, and Jimmy Parker, Brother (deceased); a cherished Aunt Delois Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family as well as numerous past co-workers and friends.
