Ella Mae Solomon McKinney was born on August 16, 1949, to Mr. Jim and Mamie Solomon in Albany, Georgia.
A Time to Live…
Ella was educated in the Dougherty County Public School System. She graduated from Monroe Comprehensive High School. She graduated from Albany Vocational Technical College in the healthcare field. Ella was employed with Phoebe Putney Memorial
Hospital for forty years as a Unit Secretary. Ella was loved by all with her quiet, kind, gentle and warm spirit.
Ella married the love of her life, Robert Lee McKinney, on March 25, 1967. This special relationship would result in 55 years of marriage that produced three handsome sons, Reginald Lamar, proceeded her in death, Roderick Bernard, and Derek Rodney.
A Time to Rest…
Brought up to know God as her personal Savior she joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Albany, Ga. Where she served faithfully until God called her home, on February 17, 2023. Ella was proceeded in death by her parents Mr. Jim and Mrs. Mamie Solomon, her son Mr. Reginald L. McKinney, and three siblings Mr. Freddie B. Zack, Mrs. Jerry Solomon Beal, and Mr. Timothy James Sibley.
A Time to Mourn…
Ella leaves to cherish her memories forever a loving husband Mr. Robert L. McKinney; two sons, Mr. Roderick B. McKinney, Mr. Derek R. (Monique) McKinney; one grandson, Tyreke; two granddaughters Ravon and Kelsey; two bonus grandchildren Christopher and Destiny; three siblings; Jimmy Solomon, Emile Seay (Eva) Sibley, Johnnie (Joyce) Sibley; two special nieces that were like her daughters, Tonya Solomon (Marty) Hudson and Wanda Solomon; also a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, dear friends and co- workers.
