Betty Jean Quimby Williams was born November 23,1938 to Bessie Alberta Quimby and Richard James. On January 1, 2019 she passed away peacefully at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. She started her Christian journey at an early age. She joined the Saint James Baptist Church and sang around in the Community Churches with her late brother, aunt and cousins. Later years she married and moved to Camilla and continued her journey and worked faithfully at Union Baptist Church. Years later she reunited back with her family at Saint James Baptist Church and worked faithfully and sang in the choir. When her health began to fail her, her daughter took
her to Mt. Calvary with them. She continued to sing and serve the Lord with until her health completely failed her.
She attended Dent Reynold and Old Rockdale School in Mitchell County. Betty profession was taking care of the sick. She worked thirty-four and a half years at Mitchell Co. Hospital and Phoebe Putney Hospital.
Betty was affectionally known for her singing and traveling. When it came to either one of them she was ready. We named her “Ready Betty”.
