Mrs. Emma (Phillips) King

Mrs. Emma Mae King, “Auntie,” was born May 31, 1931 in Lee County, Georgia

to the late Louis and Elizabeth Scott Phillips. She attended Lee County schools and was known for her love of children and animals. Emma was a member of Old Piney Grove Baptist Church.

She married at an early age to Willie Carter, and later in life, to Roosevelt “Frog” King. Both preceded her in death. She had no biological children, but claimed three generations of nieces, nephews, cousins, and neighborhood kids.

Memories of Auntie will be cherished by her sister, Willie Mae Kelley, and a host of friends, neighbors, and other relatives.
