Alice Mae Holloway-Smith went on to be with her Lord and Savior on May 15, 2023. Alice was born on August 3, 1941 in Terrell County, Dawson, Georgia to the union of Bobby Holloway and Mary Louise Thornton Holloway (both deceased).
She attended the public schools of Terrell Co and later moved to Albany, Georgia where she attended nursing school at Albany Area Vocational School. Alice was employed at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital until she retired in 2006. On February 11, 1962 Alice was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Frank Smith. To their union two daughters were born, Pamela Anita and Paula Banita. Alice was a member of Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully in any capacity needed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Holloway, Sr and Mary Louise Thornton Holloway; three brothers, Bobby Holloway, Jr, Lucious "Bud' Holloway, Sr, (Emma Kate, deceased), and Rev. John Holloway (Mamie, deceased); and two sisters, Cornelius Holloway, and Mildred Toomer (Jessie, deceased).
She is survived by her husband, Frank Smith; daughters, Pamela Anita Smith Calhoun (Lerward, Sr) and Paula Banita Smith; two sisters, Eva Sue Holloway Johnson (Bill, deceased), and Lurethia Sykes of Silver Spring, MD; three brothers, James Holloway (Janie), Henry Jay Holloway, Sr (Mary), Alton Eddie B Holloway (Pamela); three grandchildren, Lenward, Jr, Robert Jerome Smith, and La'Keiva Artressia Benefield; and a host of well-loved nieces, nephews, and cousins, especially nephew Cedric 'Chip' Johnson who was always right there whenever she called him.
