On November 2, 1942, a special gift was born to the late Mrs. Annie Bell Ramsey Dixon and the late Mr. John L. Dixon, Sr. His name
was John L. Dixon, Jr. John L. Dixon was called “John” by everyone. He was educated in the public schools of Crisp County,
Georgia. In 1962, he, along with his classmates proudly received their high school diplomas from the former A. S. Clark High School
upon completion of their high school requirements. He was an excellent basketball player at A. S. Clark High School who loved
sports and he was an avid tennis player. John did further study at a nearby college and Technical College in Atlanta, GA. He worked as
a Maintenance Manager and Supervisor at the American Can Company where he retired and worked in other positions at a hospital
and at local schools in Atlanta.
He accepted Christ in his early years with the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and continued serving his faith he moved to Atlanta, Georgia.
Early in his life, Mr. Dixon demonstrated an unparalleled work ethic and sense of responsibility and integrity. He was a Care Provider;
helping his younger siblings, helping provide for his parents and helping provide for his loving and caring sister, Brenda. His love and
time spent with family and friends will always be remembered. He genuinely had love for every life he touched.
On Sunday, September 29, 2019, our beloved and caring brother left this world. He leaves to cherish his memory, members of his loving
and caring family which include his sister, Brenda West (Elbert) Cordele, GA; his brothers, Billy Dixon, Calgary, Alberta, Canada,
Jake Dixon, Atlanta, GA, Robert Dixon (Glenda) Cordele, GA and Floyd Dixon(Clara), Jacksonville, FL; his uncles. Clifford Ramsey
(Linda) and F. D. Ramsey; his nephews, Carlus Dixon, Michael Dixon, Elbert Holmes, and Sidney Holmes; a great niece, Rebekah
Dixon and a host of cousins, nieces and many sorrowing friends.
