Mr. Nathaniel Bryant

January 27, 1955 — January 23, 2022

On Sunday, January 23, 2022, God softly whispered for his servant to come with Him and rest. Nathaniel Bryant was preceded in death by his Mother Elsie Lewis Bryant; his Father Charlie Jackson; his sisters Lola King, Dorothy Bryant Williams and Rosetta Bryant Nixon; and his brothers Leroy Clinton and Roosevelt King.

The journey of life for Nathaniel Bryant began in Leesburg, Georgia on January 27, 1955. He was born to the late Elsie Lewis Bryant and Charlie Jackson. He received his education in the Dougherty County School System and graduated from Monroe High School in June 1973. Nathaniel was a well known basketball player in Southwest Georgia. People would pack out the gymnasium just to see him play basketball.

Nathaniel moved from Georgia and made Jacksonville, Florida his home for over forty years. He was affectionately called “Monroe” by his Florida family that knew him and loved him. Nathaniel worked as a carpenter, roofer and general contractor for more than thirty years. He was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Jack & Annette Harmon. He served in the ministry as an usher. Nathaniel would assist in any capacity needed in the ministry. He was always willing to help others.

Precious memories and beautiful moments shared will linger in the minds of family members. Nathaniel leaves the legacy of his season to his one son Antonio Bernard Bryant; one granddaughter Kamya Bryant of Albany, Georgia; three brothers James (Dollie) Jackson of Miami, Florida; Leroy (Donna) Bryant of St. Petersburg, Florida; and Willie (Dorothy) Bryant of Albany, Georgia; one sister Minnie Bryant Jackson of Albany, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and dear friends Deacon Willie Wright and Ms. Edith Gammage
