A Time to be Born – J.C. McFarland, affectionately known as “J” was born to the late J.D. and Daisy McFarland on January 31, 1946, in Albany, Georgia and raised in Baker County, Georgia.
He was educated in the public school systems of Dougherty County and Baker County, where he graduated from Baker County High School in 1964.
A Time of Please – J.C. McFarland was the patriarch of the family. The love he exemplified for his family was priceless. J.C. loved to be with his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time in his yard. He worked faithfully for 30 years at Georgia Pacific until his retirement. At an early age, J.C. was baptized at Third Kiokee Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend R.B. Smith, Sr. J.C. served as a faithful member of the Tribe of Judah.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, J.D & Daisy McFarland; sons, Deric McFarland and Torris McFarland; sister, Berneda McFarland; brother, Lucious McFarland; nephew, Darren Owens; nieces, Celethia Banks, Netherlly Osei Tutu and Shabohn Osei Tutu.
A Time to Love – J.C. and Annie Lois McFarland were marred for 55-years.
A Time to Die – On Saturday morning, March 11, 2023, at 12:50 am, God called his faithful servant home. He died peacefully at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
A Time of Peace – J.C. leaves to cherish his loving memories, his loving wife, Annie Lois McFarland; beautiful daughter, Dekithia McFarland of Albany, GA; son, Derrick Oliver (Cantrell) of Orlando, FL.; grandsons, Shelton Bernard Green of Albany, GA; Javonte Whigham of Irving, TX; Jacoby Whigham of Cheyenne, WY; and eight great-grandchildren. J.C. was the eldest child and leaves his eight siblings to carry on his memories, Richard McFarland, Rosa Reid, Hilton McFarland, and Joel (Helen) McFarland of Albany, GA; Annie (Robert) Catalani of Pasadena, MD; Charlene (Willie) Bradford, Gladys (Larry) Hall of Albany, GA; Jennifer McFarland of Jacksonville, FL. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
