Mr. James
Morns
December 24, 1952 – April 21, 2026
James Morns was born on December 24, 1952 in Leesburg, GA to Evans Morns and Rebecca Chapman-Morns. He transitioned from this life on April 21, 2026.
James was educated in the Lee County School System at Lee County High School. There he became dedicated member of the Future Farmers of America. During his adult years, James worked pouring concrete and constructing swimming pools for Mullin Pools. He further explored his passion for concrete-work by serving as a Concrete Forman for over 30 years at Wannie Brookerd Concrete.
James took pleasure in enjoying the simple things in life and relished in hobbies such as fishing and landscaping. While James was known as a jack-of-all trades, he always made himself available to lend a helping hand, and there was nothing he loved more than family.
He leaves to cherish his memories a daughter Sekenna Morns-Davenport (Derick Davenport) Albany, GA and a granddaughter Zaria Davenport. He leaves his siblings Laverne Shinault-Carter (the late Roosevelt Carter, Sr.) Leesburg, GA, Jacqueline Shinault-Harold (the late Ulysses Harold) Albany, GA, Gloria Hawkins-Stills (Aaron Stills) Conyers, GA, Evonne Morns-Brown (Willie Brown) Albany, GA, Valerie Morns-Riggins (Eddie Riggins) Opelika, AL, Michael Morns (Dr. Carolyn Morns) Huntsville, AL, Glenda Chapman Woodbridge, VA, Brother-In-Law Bobby Robinson (Albany, GA). He also leaves a friend Mary Louis Daniels, step-son Michael Daniels, four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his sister Flora Morns-Robinson, his niece Renorta Heard, his nephew Roosevelt Carter, II, and step-son Timothy Teemer.
