Mr. Donzai Pierre Thomas

November 30, 1990 — August 11, 2023

The journey of Donzai Pierre Thomas began on November 30, 1990, through the
parentage of Tammy Thomas and Alfred McCray in Thomasville, Georgia.
A very intelligent, happy, precocious child, Donzai decided early in life that he
would see the world. He attended school in Thomasville, graduating in 2009 from
Thomasville High School where he played football and basketball. “Big D”, as he
was affectionately called, loved people and never met a stranger. He worked in
customer service with the Athletic Attic in Thomasville from November 2006
through August 2009. He continued his quest for travel by enlisting in the United
States Air Force in August 2009. This alliance was mutually beneficial as Donzai
used his innate abilities to further the cause of the Air Force serving as an Air
Armament Systems Technician. Travelling extensively throughout the United
States and abroad, he attended DeVry University, graduating in 2016. As he ended
the military leg of his journey in the same year, Donzai worked as a Technical
Support Specialist Technician where his infectious smile and bigger-than-life

personality endeared him to many with whom he was blessed to meet. Donzai’s
love for God and strong faith were evident in the special place in his heart for those
less fortunate. He delighted in utilizing his talents, time, and treasure in service to
others and did so until his travels concluded on August 11th.
Sharing memories of Donzai are his loving, devoted mother Tammy
Thomas, whom he affectionately called “MA”; his father Alfred (Felicia) McCray;
paternal grandparents Martha Tillman and Alfred McCray, Sr. of Thomasville;
siblings Alfred McCray of Thomasville, Ga., Demetrie (Bridget)McCray of
Philadelphia Pennsylvania , Domonique McCray of Riverside Georgia and
Shanesia (Tyrell) Stephens of Hawaii; aunts Zeporia Gilmore of Albany and Julia
(Bernard) Ross of Thomasville; uncles Raymond (Sandra) James of Hampton, Ga.
and Charlie Tillman of Valdosta, Ga.; great-aunts Mary (Hozea) Hester and Essie
Spann of Thomasville; great uncles Gregory (Betty) Petties of Perry, Ga.,
Howlond (Virginia) Johnson, Sr., Tommy Johnson and Andrew Petties all of
Thomasville; a very special cousin/confidante Vashund Gilmore of Kileen, Tx; and
a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends.
